Its Been A Wonderful Trip

Hello Lejits, Preservationists and Island Packers:

Even though I actually haven't ventured too far from my laptop, I feel like I have spent the last two weeks between Vegas and LA. Travelling with you girls have been a real treat and fun to boot. While I managed to sleep comfortably in my bed at night and have regular access to the shower, hot meals and the other comforts of home, I know that nothing that I experienced over this time could even come close to your actual experience of "being there."

You all are completing an opportunity of a lifetime with memories that you will share for a lifetime. I can only imagine what it must have been like to watch the sun rise or set in Death Valley. What a treat it must have been to experience Lake Isabella (I still don't know how it got its name) and spend the night in Yosemite. Pacific Coast Highway must have offered some beautiful and picturesque landscapes to see.

The Chinatown experience sounds like a teeny bit of immersion. Just enough to wet an appetite to learn and unserstand more about the Chinese culture (maybe with the exception of the rats floating in a jar). But sparking enough curiosity to want to know why and for what purpose.

The Channel Islands whale watching sounds like amazing fun and doing the town in LA sounds like "my kinda way to spend the day." I hope that each of you have made the best of this experience and have positively impacted the lives of those that you touched while traveling.

I hope that you have fun on the return journey and know that us (your parents) are anxiously excited about our time with you during spring break. Signing off now. The mom of 'one very dedicated Lejit.' See you soon Imani!
